AKUA DESIGN INC. ("Akua Design", "us", "we", "our"), a Canadian company offering a selection of products and accessories with a durable, elegant and sometimes humorous design, is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal information.

We strive to apply the necessary and appropriate security measures to ensure the confidentiality of the personal information in our possession. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We retain your personal information only as long as it is necessary for our business relationship, in accordance with our internal document retention policies or legal and regulatory requirements. Strict procedures for the retention of your personal information are followed and we will destroy personal information that Akua Design no longer needs for the identified purposes. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS ?
Right of access, information and rectification of your personal information You can request access to your personal information or inquire about the existence of this information or the way in which we collect, use, store and/or communicate your personal information. You can also request that the information held by Akua Design be corrected if it proves to be inaccurate, ambiguous or incomplete. You can submit a written request to this effect to the Privacy Officer at the address indicated in the “Questions, comments, complaints” section below.
We will provide you with this information or make the change promptly and no later than 30 days from the date of receipt of the written request. If you wish to obtain copies of your personal information, we may have to charge a small fee, which will be communicated to you in advance, simply to cover the costs of transcription, reproduction or transmission.
Under privacy and data protection legislation, you have rights that we need to tell you about. The rights you have depend on why we are processing your information.
Right of access and rectification; You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. This right still applies. There are certain exemptions which mean that you will not always receive all the information we process. You also have the right to ask us to correct information that you believe is inaccurate and to ask us to complete information that you believe is incomplete. These rights still apply.
Right to erasure; You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. Right to object, limit or restrict the use of personal informationYou can ask us to stop using some or all of your personal information (for example, if we have no legal right to continue using it) or to limit our use of it (for example, if your personal information is inaccurate or unlawfully held).
Right to data portability. This right only applies to information that you have provided to us. You have the right to ask us to transfer the information you have given us from one organization to another, or to give it to you. This right only applies if we process the information on the basis of your consent or in connection with or for the purpose of entering into a contract and the processing is automated. In most cases, you are not required to pay a fee to exercise your rights.
Depending on applicable law, we normally have one month to respond to you. Automated decision-making If you are an EEA resident, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), where that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you. We do not make fully automated decisions that have legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data. Our provider Shopify uses limited automated decision making to prevent fraud, which has no legal or otherwise significant effect on you. Services that include automated decision-making elements include:
· A temporary deny list of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This exclusion list persists for a small number of hours.
· A temporary list of credit cards associated with denied IP addresses. This list is retained for a small number of days.
POLICY CHANGES AND UPDATES
The content of our Site may be changed at any time and Akua Design reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to update, revise, modify or supplement this Policy from time to time. If so, we will notify you as required by law. As this Policy may change over time, we recommend that you review it frequently to stay informed of how we are handling your personal information.

Akua Design wants you to know that we are committed to responding promptly and accurately to all of your questions and concerns regarding the privacy and security of your personal information and our policies and procedures in this regard. In the event of a complaint on your part concerning the exercise of your rights set out in this Policy, your file will be handled by our Privacy Officer, who will inform you of the procedure to follow. Each complaint will be investigated. If the complaint is justified, the particular situation will be corrected and you will be informed.
